Display Solutions, Inc. of Hudson, MA. has completed an upgrade of the CAORF Ships Bridge Trainer visual system at the US Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) in Kings Point, NY.

The USMMA needed Display Solutions to design and install the visual system around the academic schedule of the training facility as well as the existing physical layout. The 11 single-chip DLP, XGA projectors were replaced with 11 three-chip DLP SXGA+ Titan Projectors. External video warping and edge-blending post processors were used to geometrically correct and blend the images on the cylindrical screen. One of the principal goals of the USMMA upgrade was to improve their night training capability. The multi-lamp light engine and adjustable lens iris of the new projectors, combined with custom optical baffles designed and manufactured by Display Solutions, significantly improved the night training performance of the simulator. The visual system installed by Display Solutions gives USMMA one of the highest performance visual systems in the US Maritime training industry. 

Display Solutions was responsible for the design, scheduling, installation, alignment, training and customer acceptance for the upgrade.
